The First Buy for Spring

Here I am with my first purchase for spring. A stitched kurta from first time lawn designer, Sania Maskatiya. While Sania has gradually been gaining fame in Pakistan over the last couple of years, last year was a particularly good year for her as she designed one of the outfits worn by Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy during last years Oscars where Sharmeen won the first golden statue for Pakistan. This year Sania partners with the Sapphire group to introduce her first lawn collection to the masses. Needless to say, with Sania’s rising fame in the last year, this was probably the most anticipated collection of the season. Sania did not disappoint with a well-rounded collection featuring her signature style and aesthetic. Another clever move was including stitched kurtas in the collection for customers who aren’t into the traditional three-piece suits, such as moi! If you are one of the few who havent seen Sania’s collection yet I suggest you do so before it’s all sold out. Beautifully decorated with sparkly chandeliers and golden trees made the tent look like the land of eternal spring. The lawn itself was displayed in a way where everyone could easily get a look at it and there was always someone to help and guide close at hand. All in all a great start to the lawn season…for me at least. By the way in case you hadn’t noticed, I am wearing my coloured royal blue jeans in the picture 🙂 Ok I know it isn’t actually the most adventurous colour for the colored jeans trend but think of it this way…first step royal blue, next step NEON!! OK maybe not neon….how about red?
